Basic bike setup for comfort and efficiency
Setting up your ebike correctly can greatly enhance your riding experience. With a comfortable setup you will arrive at your destination without a sore back, neck, feet or hands. Increasing efficiency gives you a longer range.
Here are some basic instructions to help you on your way:
1. Seat Position: This is one of the most important aspects of acomfortable ride. Adjust the height of the seat so that your leg is just slightly bent when the pedal is at its lowest point and you’ve got your heel on the pedal. Adjust the angle of the seat to make sure it’s parallel to the ground. Make fine adjustments backwards or forwards and tilt up or down so that your three sit bones have equal pressure on the seat and you can reach the handlebars easily.
2. Handlebar Position: Adjust the height and angle of the handlebars to a comfortable position that suits your riding style. Generally, you want the handlebars to be level with or slightly higher than the saddle. This will help you maintain an upright position and reduce strain on your back and neck. If you want to ride more athletically you can lower the handlebars which will allow you to put more power through the pedals and be more aerodynamic.
3. Tyre Pressure: Check the tyre pressure regularly for optimal comfort and efficiency, we recommend once a month. The ideal tyre pressure depends on the type of tyre and your weight. The recommended and maximum pressure can be found on the tyre sidewall.
By following these basic instructions, you can set up your ebike for maximum comfort and efficiency for a more enjoyable and rewarding ride. Please contact us with any questions you may have about setting up your ebike.
